Ashland Police Officers Promoted
Earlier this week, Chief Rossi and I had the honor of promoting Larry Rodkey to the rank of Sergeant, and Michael Vinciulla to the rank of Lieutenant for the Ashland Police Department.
Sgt. Rodkey began his journey with the Ashland Police Department as a Dispatcher in 2016 and was appointed as a full-time Police Officer in 2018. After Sgt. Rodkey’s appointment to Police Officer, Sgt. Rodkey quickly established himself as a leader in the patrol division and has developed an exemplary record within the department. We look forward to working with Sgt. Rodkey in his new role.
Lieutenant Vinciulla began his career with the Ashland Police Department in 2004 as a Permanent Intermittent Police Officer and was hired a few months later as a full-time Officer. In early 2020, Lt. Vinciulla was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Since that time. Lt. Vinciulla has handled many of the administrative duties within the department and has been an integral part of the development of the new Public Safety Building, including the transfer of dispatch and the Police Department to the new facility on Union Street. We are looking forward to the many contributions Lt. Vinciulla will make in shaping the future of the APD.
Both men have been eligible for promotion for some time, and we thank them and the men and women of the APD for their patience.
The Town of Ashland anticipates making additional promotions in the very near future. At that time, we will hold a more formal promotional ceremony honoring Sgt. Rodkey, Lt. Vinciulla, and additional officers.
