Kevin Anderson Named New AD
For several months, a small search committee, composed of various school community members, has been searching for a new director to lead the district’s athletic programs. After a careful and thorough process, the district is excited to welcome Kevin Anderson to serve as its next athletic director.
“We found strong interest from a large and talented candidate pool, and I fully feel Mr. Anderson will be a great asset to our district. He has a well-rounded background at all levels of athletics administration,” said Superintendent Jim Adams. “I am confident he will build upon our current athletic offerings and set the bar high for our coaches and student-athletes. I want to thank our search committee for their support and hard work.”
Anderson has worked with athletics administrators, coaches, students, and staff in both K-12 and higher education settings. He comes to Ashland most recently from the Grafton Public Schools, where he implemented a strong social media presence, introduced livestreaming and oversaw the mascot rebranding process as the director of athletics. Previously, he served as assistant athletic director at Dean College.
“I am thrilled to be headed to Ashland, a district with great traditions and a spirited fan base. I want the Clocker community to know that I am deeply committed to excellence, on and off the field, in each of our athletic programs,” Anderson said.
Anderson holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts from Framingham State University and earned a Master of Science in Professional Communication from Clark University in May 2019.
He will take the helm on July 1, and succeed Stephen Marks, who announced his decision to step down at the end of the school year in March.
