Police Swearing In: Welcoming Our Newest Officers

We are thrilled to announce the addition of two outstanding new members to the Ashland Police Department.

Officer Brandon Barker and Officer Yoel Goulbourne were officially sworn in this summer, each bringing unique skills and experiences to our community.

Officer Barker was sworn in on June 17. Town Manager Michael Herbert had the honor of administering the oath in a ceremony held at Town Hall. Officer Barker recently graduated from the Cambridge-Northeastern Police Academy, where he excelled in his training and demonstrated a strong commitment to public service. Following the ceremony, he immediately began his field training, starting his journey to serve and protect our community. We are confident that his dedication and enthusiasm will greatly benefit our town.

Officer Yoel Goulbourne was sworn in on June 3. With experience at the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department, Boston School Police, and Boston University Police, as well as being an 8-year U.S. Army veteran, Officer Goulbourne brings a wealth of knowledge to our community. His sweet daughter, Aiva, proudly pinned his badge at the swearing-in ceremony, adding a personal touch to the event.

Please join us in welcoming Officer Brandon Barker and Officer Yoel Goulbourne to our team. We look forward to their contributions and are grateful for their commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of Ashland.

Welcome aboard, Officers Barker and Goulbourne!
