Continued Progress For Healing Garden

The Nyanza Memorial Healing Garden continues to see improvements.

A stone dedicated to those who died from cancer was placed in the Nyanza Memorial Healing Garden, along with picnic tables for families to enjoy, said one of the founders, Marie Kane.

Kane said she hopes the placement of the memorial stone will encourage others to participate in the remembrance garden.

“What I want to do is for people, if they so choose, is to find a rock, inscribe as they choose, and we will place it around the dedicated stone,” she said.

Moving forward, Kane said the plan is to clean the surrounding area and invite people to create a painted rock with a message of their choice.

“We have set up picnic tables, seating for 20 people. Great for gatherings, meditating, picnic lunches etc. All are welcome,” she said. “We are very excited for people to spend time in the garden.”
