Ashland Police Department Welcomes 2 New Officers
The Ashland Police Department is excited to introduce two new officers who have joined our team! After a period of vacancies, we’re thrilled to have these previously funded positions filled, especially since the town opted out of Civil Service last year. This decision has allowed us to recruit skilled and passionate officers who are committed to enhancing the safety of our community.
Officer Emanuele Toscano comes to us with an impressive 20 years of experience at the Norfolk County Sheriff’s Department. His vast qualifications include certifications as a K9 handler, firearms instructor, field training officer, and defensive tactics instructor. We’re confident his wealth of knowledge and expertise will be a great asset to our department.
Officer Mario Sousa joins us after more than a decade with the Hopedale Police Department, where he currently serves as their School Resource Officer (SRO). Known affectionately as “Super Mario” by students, Officer Sousa brings with him a strong commitment to community policing and holds a variety of certifications. His dedication to building positive relationships within the community will undoubtedly make him a great fit for Ashland.
We are excited to have both officers on board and are certain they will make valuable contributions to our department’s mission of ensuring the safety and well-being of Ashland. Welcome aboard, Officers Toscano and Sousa!
